The cats are standing in the doorway of the king's court. We cannot see the other side of the doorway.

Jeeves (offscreen): Can I help you?

King George III (a.k.a. Visiting Royal Dignitary) (offscreen): Jeeves, you daft fool, can't you see these must be the court jesters I sent for? Show them in, show them in!

Oolong: Actually, we were hoping to see the Ambassador to Syria...

King (offscreen): Ah, you wish to greet my latest appointee! I like that in a jester. Jeeves, kindly direct these two to the relevant office.

Jeeves (offscreen): But, your majesty...

King (offscreen): Ah, ah, no buts! Now then, I have a meeting with Lord Admiral Poplar. Say, do you two know any tree jokes?

Ferdinand: Tell him his bark is worse than his bite!

King (offscreen): Tree bites are no laughing matter, young man! I myself was once the victim of a vicious mugging-by-pine-tree.
