Brainley and Dobbsey are standing around a large cylindrical candle.

Dobbsey: Scented candles? That's an interesting addition to the lab.

Brainley: It's my line of scented candles for synesthetes! This one is Euler's constant.

Dobbsey moves along to a more squat candle, resting on a square plate.

Dobbsey: And this one?

Brainley: That is the sound of one hand clapping.

Dobbsey: I...see.

Dobbsey moves ahead to yet another candle, this one a streamlined affair sitting snugly in a glass jar.

Brainley: Ah, that one's the piece de resistance. I call it "joke punchline".

Dobbsey: Seems a little...flat.

A synesthete is, of course, someone who experiences synesthesia.
